Q:
HI, We've made the ZUMO and KLAW as per instructions and coded according - servo calibrated etc. However, we're having trouble with the servo getting very hot. We've followed instructions to the letter and have not departed from the build. Wondered if this is a known problem or a localised issue with calibration or a faulty servo? Any help appreciated.

A:
Hi John, This isn't something that has been mentioned before so it is a little odd. However there may be a couple of reasons for this. Firstly can I check that the servo is being powered from a supply of 3-6V? Anything higher and that is likely to be the issue. Secondly, can the Klaw move freely once built without and power on the servo? Third, can the servo rotate when the Klaw isn't attached, and does it get hot at this point? If you drop an email through to support@kitronik.co.uk we may be able to help further.

Q:
Is it possible to add the claw to the servo board whilst the board is part of the MOVE mini buggy kit? Does the board only run 2 servos? And how can how to you attach the addition LED strip module? Wired in series?
Asked by: Neil
A:
Hi, The issue you will face is that due to the way the micro:bit is designed it is limited to being able to run 3 Servos at any one time. So you could alter kit to run the Klaw but this would mean the LED strip would not run as this is run as if it were a servo extension. The way to cut out the LEDs and add the extra servo would be to look at the servo lite board and on the back should be a point which has cut track for servo 3 and solder link for servo 3. You would need to cut that track and solder that link so that you could run the third servo from that point. With the extra LEDs add on you would be best off soldering a Male Pin header to the PXL extension again found on the back of the servo lite board and then connecting the LEDs to this. I hope this helps. Cullen
