Hi Natasha, These motors can run on a voltage between 1.5-4.5V’s so should work fine on 2XAA batteries as this provides 3V’s. The typical current draw is 350mA, 1 AA battery has around 1100mA so again the current shouldn’t be an issue. Things to check would be, are the batteries full inserted, does the battery box have a switch, are the wires properly connected to the motor (crocodile clips would be a good way to test), try the motor just with the battery cage and nothing on the end of the motor.
