  • If you spend over £200 (£240.00 including VAT, excluding large materials or lithium batteries) delivery is free within the UK.

Rest of the world

  • These orders are sent via UPS, and the cost is dependant on the service you choose at checkout. Alternatively you can choose the free collection option and have your own courier collect it from us. International orders can only be shipped to the registered card address. Please note: International orders may be charged import duty dependant on local import laws and duty rates. These charges are usually billed to you directly from UPS.

How do you use the ZIP LED expansion connections? Do they need to be enabled? how do you refer to them when programming? Examples please?

Thank you for your question, you do not need to enable the LEDs. You would control them from Pin 0 in the same manner as the blog below.

How is the RTC addressed? Could I use the Makecode Blocks with https://www.kitronik.co.uk/4616-real-time-clock-module.html connected to a BBC Microbit instead?

Hi Keith,

We address the RTC board through an I2C chip I believe. You could in theory use the 4616 clock board with make code but you would need to code your own blocks, address your pins and so on which would be quite involved. It's cheaper and easier to use our clock board that we have set up to work with make code.

Do you have any examples of using the makecode blocks for the RTC? It seems as soon as I include a block from the RTC extension it stops everything else in my program from working....

Hi Alex, I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with the RTC board. We are working on some examples for this board but currently all we have is the example code shown in the datasheet on page 2. If you are still having problems with that code let us know.

How clever is the RTC? By which I mean does it cope with leap years, summer time and so on. Thanks

Hi Marty, We got most the way to make it clever. The code will cope with a leap year as it will check for this and default the date to either 28th or 29th were appropriate. However as British summer time changes from year to year it wasn't possible for us to have it detect that, it would just be a case of offsetting the time by either +/- 1 hour depending on what is needed.
