This unit provides a simple way of adding flashing white LEDs to a textiles project using conductive thread. The unit is programmed with a number of flashing patterns, which are selected by a push button on the main board. Pressing this button cycles through the following patterns: all LEDs constantly on, slow flash all on all off, fast flash each in turn and turned off. The device features auto-off, which turns the unit off after 30 minutes to preserve battery life.

This kit is supplied pre-built so requires no soldering. Each kit comprises three small PCBs. The largest of the three PCBs holds an LED plus the control electronics, battery and a push button. On both of the remaining PCBs there is an LED, these are connected to the main board with conductive thread (supplied).

Depending upon flash pattern the battery lasts for approximately two days of constant use.

Question:

Hi, I have one of these great kits. I'd like to end up with one switch controlling 9/10 LEDS. Is this possible or will I need to buy a separate switch & larger battery (or several 3v batteries) and add resistors? I particularly like the timer and flashing functions but don't want to buy 2 more whole kits (and therefore have 3 switches). Thanks

    Hi, the absolute maximum amount of LEDs you can run from one of these units is 10, 5 per side of the flasher unit. Depending on your design though you might need two flasher units with 4/5 LEDs connected to each (split across the two sides of the flasher units). This is because the battery may not be able to output enough current to make it work for very long.
