Hi Les, Yes these soldering irons are available for schools to purchase, this would be done in the same method as any of our other products. This product runs off a standard mains power supply and as such is fine to be used in a school environment, All of these Antex soldering irons have a silicone heat resistant cable which makes them much harder wearing and safer in a school environment. As with any electrical device regular checks on the cable and unit are recommended to ensure a damaged device isn’t used.
