Unfortunately the iPod cable only has the 3 wire connections for ground and the two audio channels. As a result it is not possible to charge the device. If the wires were in the cable and the board regulated to 5V then this could be done, but not with this kit.

If by asking about minimum and maximum speaker diameters you are asking what speakers can be used with the kit then:The kit can be used with any 8ohm speaker as long as it is capable of handling 1W peak power. A lower power specification of speaker would be fine provided the volume is turned down. The physical size of the speaker doesn’t necessarily translate to more power though can be an indicator. You would be able to use a more powerful speaker with the kit but won’t be able to drive it to its full potential. That said don’t go buying a 100W speaker and expect it to work as there won’t be enough power to drive the coil.
Yes the iPod lead will work with the iPhone 3GS.

Hello!!!Would this amp kit be able to connect to 8 speakers and would it be powerful enough?? All 8 speakers would be playing simultaneously in a very small space on low volume. What is the difference between the "deluxe amp kit" and this "pre built amp kit"? Is it simply that one is pre built and the other is not?
Thank you!
