The case is made from 3mm plywood, laser cut and a second colour changing LED has been added into the circuit plus an on/off switch. They used some 10mm diameter acrylic bubble rod, drilled a small hole into the end and placed over the led to help with light transmission. In one photograph you can see the switch, the LDR just peeping through the case and the screw holding the lid/bubble rods in place.
