Kitronik's Dave Sanderson visiting ICT for Education conference 12/05/2023

Kitronik Technical Director, Dave Sanderson, will be attending the ICT for Education conference in Norwich 12/05/2023, our good friends BCS, the Chartered Institute of IT will also be there. It looks to be an exciting event, will you be going?

The ICT for Education conference and seminar programme was launched to help teachers and others responsible for UK schools to get the most out of technology in the face of ever-changing curriculum demands and constantly-evolving classroom technology.

They also have wider community of business leaders, educators, practitioners and policy-makers all committed to our mission. Their agenda is to lead the IT industry through its ethical challenges, to support the people who work in the industry, and to make IT good for society.

BCS offer a variety of IT and Digital Literacy training for home, business, professional qualifications, and for the classroom. There is training aimed at teachers, students in higher education, and also courses for children aged 7+ (UK Key stages 2 and up/US grade 2 and up). They have recently launched a new level 1 robotics award which can be completed using Kitronik robotics products!

 

BCS Level 1 Robotics Award:

In conjunction with the ICDL Foundation, BCS is delighted to introduce this new qualification, which covers the basic concepts and skills required to understand, build and programme robots.

Aimed at children aged 7+ (UK Key stages 2 and up/US grade 2 and up), the course is Ofqual approved. The course contains handbooks for learners and for teachers, an assessment handbook, automated testing, and a BCS level 1 qualification.

Kitronik have been working in collaboration with BCS learning and development and our :MOVE Motor and associated learning products can be used can be used by pupils to complete the course.
