Could this be powered by a 5 volt supply? Thanks

Hi Joshua, Thank you for your question, I am afraid not. This would normally need to run from a 9V to 12V supply I am afraid. Best Regards Cullen

Q:
Which is the best way to mount/secure the speakers, (they do not seem to have holes in the corners)?
Asked by: Alan Murrell
A:
There are a number of ways that the speaker can be secured; here are some of the things I've seen done: Glue it in place. Use a piece of material with an 18mm hole in it to clamp the back of the speaker in position. (A good solution for laser cut cases). Use some self tapping screws to hold some wire across the edge of the speaker.

Q:
Hi, Can this kit be connected up with an iphone/pod dock (instead of the 3.5mm jack) and different speakers? Thanks
Asked by: Chris Mills
A:
We have tried this kit with an iPod and whilst it does work there is no volume control on the iPod or on the amplifier kit so you get the music played at full volume which is inevitable distorted. I suspect that an iPhone will be the same as the iPod, but haven't tried this. It would be possible to use two potentiometers to create a volume (and balance control). The speakers could be changed however the IC on the board will only drive 1W into each speaker so you wouldn't necessarily hear the benefit of using better speakers.
